7 Tips for Cleaning Windows and Patio Doors

Keeping your windows and doors clean shouldn’t be something you need to stress about. We have found these 7 tips that will help make your life easier when it comes to your window and door cleaning chores. These easy tips will help make cleaning a breeze.

1.) Lint Roll Your Curtains to help prevent lint and fuzz build up.

  • Using a tape lint roller, you can easily remove fluff, dirt, and pet hair ff your curtain or blinds.

2.)DIY Streak Free Window Cleaner

  • Combine 2 cups of water,1/4 cup Vinegar, and ½ tsp soap in a spray bottle and shake. Once you have done this, you can spray over any glass surface for a streak free clean glass.

3.)Cleaning Wooden Blinds

  • You will need the following:

Microfiber Cloth
2-4 Rubber Bands
Tongs
The DIY streak-Free window cleaner from tip number 2, or any other cleaner that you prefer to use.
Once you have gathered your supplies, you will take the cloths, and wrap them around tongs securing them with the rubber bands. Spray the cloth with your choice of cleaning solution and insert the tongs into the wooden blinds. Press the tongs together and using a swiping motion you will be able to remove any dust or dirt accumulated in your blinds.

4.)Cleaning the Sill

  • You will need the following:

Baking Soda
Vinegar
Foam Brush
Water
Paper Towel

To clean the sill of the window, first, sprinkle baking soda in the track. Once you have done this, you will want to spray the baking soda with vinegar until it bubbles. Next, take a clean foam brush and gently scrub away the dirt. Once these steps are complete you can use water and paper towel to remove the rest of the baking from your sill.

5.)Vacuuming the Track

  • Use a small vacuum, or vacuum attachment to remove dirt from the track of your patio doors and windows. By doing this once a month it will help elevate maintenance for you your home.

6.)Lint roll your Screen

  • You can use a lint tape roller to help remove dust and dirt from the interior and exterior of your screen. By using a lint roller, it gives you the opportunity to either remove or leave your screen where it is at.

7.)Extending Your Reach

  • If you have a second or third story window in need of a cleaning on the exterior of your home, you will be happy to know that there are ways to help make this easier for you.

Use a dry mop wand and add paper towels to the flat end make sure to secure the roll by pressing them into the holes, or by securing them with tape. Spray the paper towel down with the cleaner of your choice. Wipe down the windows and let them dry and you will have beautiful windows again.
