When staging the home, you should use large pieces of art to replace walls filled with family photos where needed but don’t be afraid to leave a wall empty either! It’s easier for the buyer to imagine adding their own wall décor to a blank space.

For many home buyers, storage space is a must. Maximize the appearance of your home’s storage space by emptying out closets and cupboards as well as the garage, basement, or attic.  Pack away out-of-season clothing and donate what you don’t need. You may even find tons of stuff you forgot you even had. And once you sell, you have a head start on the packing process!

​A new coat of paint can do amazing things to the look of your home. Give it a fresh look by using warm neutral tones. This lets buyers see the home as move-in ready! Don’t forget to patch and paint the places where you took down all those family photos!

​You’d be amazed at the difference a deep cleaning can make! Use a power washer to clean the exterior siding and walkways. Make sure to avoid windows and doors that can be damaged by the powerful spray. Clear out dust and cobwebs, bleach grout, wax floors and polish hardware. If you have pets, have the carpets professionally cleaned. Even when your home is in perfect condition, pet smells can be a deal breaker. Don’t take the chance of losing a potential buyer when cleaning the carpets fix it right up!

It is important to check your windows and doors for signs of damage or deterioration and make necessary repairs. Look for cracked or broken panes, chipping paint, and loose or torn weather stripping.
